 Rev.  Obong N. Obong

The Rev Obong Ndueso Obong hails from Obotme village in Iwere Clan, Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. He answered the call to the holy ministry in 1990 and proceeded to the Trinity (Union) Theological College, Umuahia for his ministerial training. He graduated in 1992 and was licensed at the Presbyterian Church, Apapa, Lagos. Rev. Obong was posted to Amannagwu in Arochukwu Parish for his probationary training.

 

On completion of the probation, he was posted to Ania Parish where he was ordained a Minister of the Word and Sacraments by the then Ohafia Presbytery in 1993. 

Rev. Obong has since 1993 serve the church in various capacities including Minister-in-Charge, Ania Parish, Ohafia (1993-1996); Part-time lecturer, Hugh Goldie Lay Theological College, Arochukwu, Abia State (1992-1996); Pioneer Minister-in-Charge, Mbak Atai, Itam Parish, Itu LGA, AKS (1996-2000); Part-time Lecturer, Essien Ukpabio Presbyterian Theological College, Itu (1996-1999); Minister-in-Charge, Hope Waddell Parish, Calabar (2000-2004); Resident Minister, Christ Church Interdenominational, Port Harcourt (2005-¬2007).

The Rev Obong has also held various appointments within and outside the church some of which are Clerk, Ohafa Presbytery, the Pioneer Clerk, Ohafia South Presbytery; Member, Local Education Committee, Ohafia Local Government Council; the Moderator, Northern Calabar Presbytery; the Clerk, Calabar Synod; the Secretary, Board of Trustees, Christ Church International, Port Harcourt; 

In addition to the Diploma in Theology from Trinity (Union) Theological College, Umuahia, Rev. Obong holds the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) from China Town Primary School, Asato, Enugu; West African School Certificate (WASC) from Holy Family College, Abak, ,Akwa lbom State, Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE in English & History) from Federal College of Education, Katsina; BA ED in English Education from the University of Calabar, Calabar; M. ED in Language Arts Education from the University of Uyo.

The Rev. Obong N. Obong is happily married to Rev. (Mrs.) Atim Obong and are blessed with three children.
